23rd Southgate Easter Camp The 23rd Southgate Scouts went on to Danemead Wood for their Easter camp. Never ones to miss the start of the camping season, the Troop did not expect the weather conditions they met when the camp was first planned.

The Pull of The Panto "Jack and the Beanstalk" proved to be one of the top North London theatre attractions last Christmas, and the show played to rave reviews.

An amazing Pantomime The annual Southgate & Haringey District Pantomime turned out to be an amazing run of 11 performances, often full houses.

Scouts walk on water Nearly 200 Scouts, including teams from 3rd, 14th, 22nd and 23rd Southgate, took part in this year's Chiltern 20 Challenge on Saturday 13th October.

Scout Community Week with Sainsbury's Customers and staff at Winchmore Hill Sainsbury's witnessed local Scouting at its best during the 3rd-10th October, the duration of our community partnership.

World Scout Jamboree No less than 15 young people participated in the biggest Scout event on the world at last summer's World Scout Jamboree.

Ron Wood Trophy Six teams from three troops took part in the Ron Wood Trophy this weekend. The competition is an incident hike over a about 10 Km. The team from the 6th Southgate won the trophy this year.

Sunrise At North London's Southgate Tube Station on a warm August morning we met at precisely 8am to renew our Scout Promise in this Centenary Year. Together with Scouts at the Jamboree Camp in Essex, on Brownsea Island and throughout the world, we all made the Scout sign and renewed our Promise.

A St George's Day event to remember Southgate District's annual St George's Day activity event proved once again to be an enormous success and the envy of The County.

World Scout Jamboree top fundraisers Six Southgate Scouts, chosen to be part of this summer's County Unit attending The World Scout Jamboree, have put on an international evening featuring a sumptuous meal and an entertaining quiz. The evening was an outstanding success.

District membership numbers up again! This is a picture of your District Commissioner jumping for joy with the news that The Scout Association's 2007 annual census figures show that Southgate District has increased its numbers for the second year in succession. Following a 4% jump in numbers last year, this year shows a further 1% leap.

Team Extreme During the weekend of March 9th - 11th 2007, 17 Scouts attended this year's Team Extreme at Gilwell Park. This activity based event provides older Scouts basic skills in team working and they all had several opportunities to lead their team in various challenges.

London Assembly celebrates 100 years of Scouting and honours Southgate Scouts Four top bravery awards were presented to members of the 3rd Southgate Scout Group when The London Assembly hosted a special reception at City Hall in the presence of His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent to mark one hundred years of the Scouting movement.

Southgate & Haringey District Pantomime Southgate & Haringey District Scouts have just completed their 11 performance run in their annual Pantomime "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves" at The Intimate Theatre in Palmers Green.

GLN Jamboree Unit - The first to Hylands Park? As part of their fund raising activities the Enfield District members of the Greater London North Jamboree Unit under took a hike to Hylands Park, the site of the World Scout Jamboree in 2007.

Chiltern 20 Challenge Hike Southgate Scouts had a brilliant time last weekend at The Chiltern 20 Challenge Hike. Practically every Group in Southgate helped make up a total of 250 Scouts from across the County and beyond.

Ron Wood Trophy On Sunday 24th of September 2006, two teams from our troop took part in the Ron Wood Trophy in the Chiltern Hills as part of our training for the Chiltern 20 in October. We had one boys team and one girls team competing over a 10km route against four other teams from the 13th and 23rd Southgate all trying to win the trophy.

A dynamic and creative Group AGM The 22nd Southgate has just held possibly one of the best Annual General Meetings ever.

Golden Celebrations Audrey Pizer, ACSL at the 19th Southgate, was merrily celebrating her Golden Wedding anniversary with her husband Alan on 9th September with 100 friends and family. Her evening was interrupted by Southgate District Commissioner, Chris Foster, who announced to everybody present that Audrey had completed a total of 22 years outstanding service to Scouting.

Greater London North Jamboree Unit Cream Tea The GLN Jamboree Unit were in action again on Sunday 3 September at Scout Park. They supported the Galleon Fellowship who had organised a Cream Tea in order in order to raise funds for the Unit.

Cub Scouts celebrate in style Over 100 Cub Scouts and Leaders from Southgate District celebrated 90 years of Cub Scouting at a huge weekend County Cub Camp at the excellent facilities on offer at Tolmers Scout campsite and activity centre in Cuffley.

Cockfosters Explorers at the London Marathon The Unit were at the Cancer Research 'Bobby Moore Fund' stand at the London Marathon this weekend, cheering on all the runners.

District St George's Day event Best described in just three words by District Commissioner Chris Foster as "an incredible success".

Team Extreme a Great Success This weekend 23 Scouts from all around Southgate District took part in Team Extreme, a leadership and teamwork course. The weekend was all about practical experience, much of which was outdoors, and gave every young person a chance to be a leader on tasks.
