Golden Celebrations (10 Sep 06 9:39pm)
Audrey Pizer, ACSL at the 19th Southgate, was merrily celebrating her Golden Wedding anniversary with her husband Alan on 9th September with 100 friends and family. Her evening was interrupted by Southgate District Commissioner, Chris Foster, who announced to everybody present that Audrey had completed a total of 22 years outstanding service to Scouting.
As a token of her commitment, on behalf of The Chief Scout, Chris and Group Scout Leader Andre Grossman, awarded Audrey with the Medal of Merit and certificate. Chris said "Whilst all Audrey and Alan's friends and family honours them on 50 years of marriage, so The Scout Association honours Audrey at the same time for providing boys and girls with adventure, challenge and fun in Scouting at the 19th Southgate". Audrey said "This is a wonderful surprise and made even more special that my family and friends were there to see it presented." |
