A dynamic and creative Group AGM (26 Sep 06 10:32am)
The 22nd Southgate has just held possibly one of the best Annual General Meetings ever.
Not only did the evening involve every young person in the Group, many of them were actually involved with the presentations. What a brilliant idea to get the Young People themselves to report and talk about the Group and Section activities and events over the past year.
There was also an array of certificates and awards for the District Commissioner to help present to the Young People who had achieved their Chief Scout’s Awards. This picture shows a very happy DC surrounded by eight Scouts who had just been presented with their Chief Scout’s Gold Award. Another really top touch was that each Scout was called up individually. Whilst they were being presented with their badge and certificates, a personal citation was read out listing their personal successes. Here was living proof of our belief that we can help all our Members fulfil their potential by working in teams, learning by doing and thinking for themselves. They have had so many positive experiences that they will never forget.
