Team Extreme (12 Mar 07 3:06pm)
During the weekend of March 9th - 11th 2007, 17 Scouts attended this year's Team Extreme at Gilwell Park. This activity based event provides older Scouts basic skills in team working and they all had several opportunities to lead their team in various challenges.
Using the numerous facilities available at Gilwell Park, the teams took part in many activities as part of their challenges including, archery, climbing and canoeing. During the Saturday, many of the Scouts were interviewed and some the activities recorded by a journalist working for the BBC Radio 4 programme "You and Yours". Some of these recordings will be used during an edition of the programme that will feature an interview with the Chief Scout, Peter Duncan.
This weekend event would not have been so successful without the team of adult leaders that gave their time and talents. On behalf of the Scouts that took part, grateful thanks to Chris N, Daniel, Andrew, Matt, Brian, Chris J, Chris D, Tom, Amanda, Eddie and special thanks to Maggie and Mary for providing such excellent meals. |
