District membership numbers up again! (17 Mar 07 10:51pm)
This is a picture of your District Commissioner jumping for joy with the news that The Scout Association's 2007 annual census figures show that Southgate District has increased its numbers for the second year in succession. Following a 4% jump in numbers last year, this year shows a further 1% leap.
District Commissioner Chris Foster is absolutely delighted. He said "More and more girls and boys are keen to join Scouting. It is important that we increase the numb er of adults in Scouting to cope with the demand. We have worked hard in the past year to recruit and retain twenty new adults who are now getting as much adventure, challenge and fun as the young people".
