Sunrise (12 Aug 07 9:57pm)

At North London's Southgate Tube Station on a warm August morning we met at precisely 8am to renew our Scout Promise in this Centenary Year. Together with Scouts at the Jamboree Camp in Essex, on Brownsea Island and throughout the world, we all made the Scout sign and renewed our Promise.

There were some 70 plus Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, a Canadian troop from Toronto and 20 adult leaders representing those in Southgate, not already at the organised camps.

After the promise the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts handed out sweets to the commuters as they hurried on to work together with handouts for general information. Then, after a quick rendition of some well known Camp fire songs we were on our way home to begin the second Scout Century.
