Southgate District Scout Camp (03 Jul 09 12:50pm)
On Friday evening June 19th, 33 Scouts from 4 Southgate troops travel to Phasels Wood camp site for our District Scout Camp. The weather was fine and sunny as the Troops set up camp.
The weekend provided the Scouts opportunities to take part in some of the on site activities including abseiling, climbing wall, potholing, cresta run, pedal cars and zip wire. The Leaders organised a competition between teams with the winners given the opportunity to take their place on the zip wire session.
Other activities during the camp included a camp mini Olympics, a wide game and joining the site campfire, finishing with a brief Scouts Own before the final dismissal and returning back to Southgate.
I would like thank the Leaders from the 6th, 14th, 23rd and 24th Southgate Troops for supporting the camp and working hard to provide a good weekend of Scouting for their Scouts.

Joseph - 24th Southgate - The activities were really fun & safe and there is of space.
Joby - 6th Southgate - This weekend has been fantastic! The wide game was the best ever played.
Euan - 23rd Southgate - this weekend has been brilliant. I have learnt new skills at cooking and camping. This is my first scout camp and it was great fun.
Connor - 24th Southgate - Great games, best activities, more fun than I imagined. The wide game was so much fun.
Ravi - 6th Southgate - The activities were fun especially the wide game.
Sam - 23rd Southgate - This weekend has been great. Every day we have done something exciting and new. I enjoyed cooking for the patrol and playing a wide game with other members of the District.
Eoin - 23rd Southgate - this weekend has been fun and I would like to do it again. A bit boring waiting for activities but I liked the fact we cooked our own food.
Sarah - 24th Southgate - I like camping because I have made friend from the District. We played a wide game and I will be coming camping again. I cook the best fried eggs and bacon.
