14th Southgate Scout Group

Welcome to 14th Southgate Scout Group, part of the vibrant Southgate Scouting community! Our Group has been based in Oakwood for over 80 years, offering young people opportunities to venture the outdoors and learn skills for life through Scouting. Whether it’s earning badges, camping under the stars, or making lifelong friends, we provide a safe and exciting environment for young people to develop skills for life.

Our History

Founded in 1939 as the 162nd North London, we have delivered an adventurous and entertaining programme of activities to 1000s of young people from our base on Green Road. Over the last few years, we’ve gone on numerous adventures, from wide games in Trent Park & Oakwood Park to Summer Camps to the Isle of Wight and Austria. Our Group has the motto Trust, Kindness, Loyalty, based on the 1st, 6th & 2nd Scout Laws, which we ask our members to uphold.

Our Sections

We offer Scouting opportunities for all age groups, ensuring a seamless journey of adventure and growth:

  • Beavers (Ages 6–8): Full of fun, friendship, and discovery, Beavers enjoy their first taste of Scouting.
  • Cubs (Ages 8–10½): Exciting activities and teamwork help Cubs develop confidence and independence.
  • Scouts (Ages 10½–14): Adventure takes off with outdoor challenges, leadership opportunities, and personal development.

Once our youth members reach the age of 14, they can join a local Explorer Scout Unit, or choose to volunteer as a Young Leader within the group.
