23rd Southgate Scout Group

Welcome to 23rd Southgate Scout Group, part of the vibrant Southgate Scouting community.

Alongside core values of integrity, respect, care, belief, and cooperation, and skills for life including teamwork and leadership, we seek to develop practical experience, knowledge of how the world works, and organisational ability.

Whether it’s earning badges, camping under the stars, or making lifelong friends, we provide a safe and exciting environment for young people to have opportunities to develop into better people faster.

Our History

We have been based in the heart of the Lakes Estate of Palmers Green since almost the dawn of scouting — we can trace our evolution as a scout group back to 1910 via a series of mergers and renamings. Alongside our weeknight meetings we work hard to get our scouts outdoors to experience nature and to learn self-reliance, independence and taking responsibility, all the while caring for the environment and preparing for the great changes likely to occur in our young people’s lifetimes.

Our Sections

We offer Scouting opportunities for all age groups, ensuring a seamless journey of adventure and growth:

  • Beavers (Ages 6–8): Full of fun, friendship, and discovery, Beavers enjoy their first taste of Scouting.
  • Cubs (Ages 8–10½): Exciting activities and teamwork help Cubs develop confidence and independence.
  • Scouts (Ages 10½–14): Adventure takes off with outdoor challenges, leadership opportunities, and personal development.

What Makes 23rd Southgate Scout Group Special?

Here’s what sets 23rd Southgate apart and makes us a fantastic choice for young people and their families:

  • A Legacy of Adventure: With a history going back almost to the dawn of scouting, we’ve been part of countless Scouting journeys, from local camps to global expeditions. We continue this tradition by being a very, very busy troop in terms of weekend goings on.
  • Community Spirit: Our Group runs fundraisers which are highly regarded in the local area.
  • Dedicated Volunteers: Our amazing team of trained volunteers is committed to delivering high-quality, fun, and safe activities.
